I very rarely will go online to write a review, but my experience with Veteran Air was horrible from the beginning. The front desk people were the only pleasant thing to speak of this company. We went with them after we bought our new house last year. My ...husband is a veteran so we liked where they were coming from. The very first time I had them come to check something out they were late, after the 4 hour time window they give you, there was no communication, and when the guy did finally show up he looked unprofessional and did not care whatsoever how he had affected my day. He gave me an outrageous price of $800 dollars for something that was a simple fix which we later went to a family friend and they fixed for $100. The second time was the same thing. They were late told us they could do reinsulating and then when we called to set up; they told us that was not something they did. We tried to give them one more shot and have them come out to at least tell us what was wrong and what they suggested about our insulation problem. We paid $180 dollars for the year as a contract that if we had problems we would be first on the list instead of last. They tried to sell us a new system which was out of our price range and we were firmly against. They didn't like the fact that we didn't want to buy a new duct system so when we asked if we needed new insulation they said yes they could do it, but it was going to be double the cost. When asked why and for an itemized estimate or each service, I received two estimates with literally just prices and nothing of why they were wanting to charge $12,000. When I asked again about a price breakdown of the estimate I was told that they would have to ask upper management. I said okay. I received a call from Michael Bannister, the HVAC Operations Manager. He was of no help and just topped off the terrible experience. Not only did he tell me that the only reason I received a quote to reinsulate my ducts was because I forced the tech to give me one. He stated that it was against their rules. I was speechless that a manager of the company had so little respect toward their customers. I asked that if I had accepted the quote for $12,000 dollars I'm sure that it wouldn't have been against the rules then. When I asked for the detailed estimate he flatly said "NO." Again speechless I asked why? He said we don't do that. You can't tell me what I am spending $12,000 dollars on? He said the computer did the break down and that itemized estimates were something that stopped 20 years ago. I recently bought a new roof for almost the same amount they were requesting for the service and he was able to give me detailed explanations of everything and what it could be with changes of expenses. He said they didn't like to bait and switch their customers. At this point I was fuming. I ended my service with them and basically wasted my money for the last year. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM UPPER MANAGEMENT AND BASICALLY THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT IT.Read More...

We have used Veteran Air for A/C maintenance for the last few years. We live on the water and had three Rheem A/C systems that were 10 years old. One of the systems developed a leak in the air handler with an estimated $3K cost of repair. Because our ...systems were showing signs of the salt water environment, we decided to replace all three old single speed Rheem systems with new variable speed Trane systems. The salesman, Leo, was low-pressure yet responsive and informative, and Veteran's price was competitive. All three systems were installed in one day. The quality of the installation was excellent- the technicians clearly take pride in their work product, and they left the premises cleaner than they found them. Equally as important is the integrity that Veteran Air displayed in dealing with us. After the new systems were installed, we determined that the original systems had still been under warranty (for another ~5 days) and, rather than buying three new systems, we could have replaced the bad coil for minimal out-of-pocket cost. Given the age of our systems, I think we could have milked maybe one more year out of them. Effectively, we could have delayed the cost of the new systems for probably a year (and earned interest on the money in the meantime). When this was brought to Veteran's attention, they acknowledged that their maintenance technician had erred on the warranty expiration date, and they compensated us for the lost year of interest. Over the 40 years that I have owned houses/cars/etc., I have encountered a handful of issues like this, and I have never left them feeling satisfied.
